Weber Family 2011 Christmas Newsletter

A very merry Christmas & a happy new year to all of our friends and family!

This year has passed for us in a whirlwind of family and activity.

After arriving home from England a year ago September, we moved into our duplex in Midvale.  Affectionately known as the Duplee.  Our plan was to sell it and buy a house that was a better size for us.  We wanted to have room for our single children and any friends from England who might drop in for a visit.  After spending three months painting and remodeling, we put it on the market.  In the meantime we began the looking process.  Thanks to a patient realtor, we finally found a house in West Valley at the same time the Duplee sold.

The sale was a little sad; it signaled the end of an era.  We bought the duplex from Grandpa fifteen years ago because we wanted our children to have an affordable place to live while they attended the university.  Each of them has lived there at one time or another.  Five babies, Devon, Jarric, Malory, Alessia, and Marika, joined the family, while their parents lived at the Duplee, along with many fond memories.

We moved into our new home March 5th; we both hope we never have to move again.

The last nine months have found us doing all the things one does with a new home: putting in a yard, fence, cement, a shed, garage shelves, etc.  This coming year Gary will be working on finishing the basement.

While Gary has kept busy with house and yard projects, I’ve been helping with my mother’s care.  My sisters, Julie and Jenny, and I take turns caring for her.   I also spend as much time as I can on family history.  My goal is to organize my collection of records before I start any new research projects.  I am also writing my parents and my own personal history.

This is the run down of our children:

Cierra, Garron, Ammon, Ambry, Terie, Jarric, Devon
Ammon and Terie – Cierra (18) is our oldest grandchild.  She graduates in May and has been busy applying to various universities for next fall.  This year Cierra was selected as her high school’s homecoming queen.  You can see her pictures on facebook.  Devon (16), Jarric (15), Garron (13) all played football this fall.  Texans love football.  Devon and Jarric are both going out for track in the spring.   Devon is working on his final project for his Eagle Scout award.  Yeh!  Go Devon!  Ambry (7) is a real sweetie.  She is in the first grade this year.  Ambry takes dance lessons: jazz and ballet.   And—surprise!—a small, wonderful, pink bundle is due to be delivered in January.  Everyone is so excited.

Ben and Tiziana – Alessia 13, is a busy teen, she is in a select violin group and taking an honors French class; she enjoys school and does very well. She loves ice-skating and is taking lessons.  Marika 9, likes ice skating and ballet.  She is doing much better in school.  And Sean 6, what can you say about Sean.  He is quite a character.  He started kindergarten this year.  At first, he was spending a lot of days in Time-Out, but now is getting use to the rules so it happens less and less.  He does love being there with his friends.  Tiziana is still taking ice skating lessons and doing her wonderful Italian cooking.  Ben just holds the show together.

Malory is on the Student Council; she likes writing, reading and is taking Sign language for foreign language credit.  Trenton 13, has a great sense of humor.  He likes bike riding, camping, science class, and wants to play hockey & the drums, oooh!  Reagen 5, began preschool in the fall and loves it.  She likes learning new songs and spending time with her friends.  She is veeeery social.  Her teacher calls her Smiley.  Reagen is full of life & energy takes gymnastics lessons and is a friend to all.   Andrew graduated as an RN last December and works in a cardiac unit in Amarillo.   He is hoping to begin anesthesiology training next fall.  Our sweet Sandi holds it all together.

Matt and Mindi  - Hannah 8, is in the third grade this year.  She likes school and does very well.  Hannah developed diabetes this year, but despite the challenge, she is dealing with it beautifully.  She recently got an insulin pump; this makes it so much easier to manage.  Emma 6, started kindergarten in September and is thoroughly enjoying this new experience.  She has turned into a social butterfly.  Both girls take ballet lessons and recently performed in a Christmas recital; I was able to attend, it was delightful program.   A new addition joined the family August 2, Leah Hope.  She is the most adorable baby you have ever laid eyes on, and sooooo cudly.  Leah’s little personality is really coming out and she is becoming a part of the family.

Tracey and Janice – Janice is still working for a benefit company as the client relations Manager.  This job keeps her way busy.  She is considering going back to school to get an MBA.  This past year the four girls and I have been getting together at Janice’s house or our place to do scrapbooking.  It’s mostly just fun to be together.   Tracey is beginning a new job with Osmose as a foreman., actually he has worked for them in the past.  As you can see they are very happy.

Bonnie – She is working full time, but planning on going back to school in the near future for a master’s degree.  Gary and I love having our three single children at home with us.  They not only keep us young, but make life interesting with their bantering and comic wit.

Jason, Sarah, Josh, Daniel & Lauren Morgan, our adopted English family.  Life has become crazy, busy this year for the Morgans.  It began when Jason and Sarah were offered a job with their former employer, BrightHouse (a rent to own company).   They both manage a store, Jason in Torkay and Sarah in Plymouth.  Jason has over an hour drive to work each day.  Their son Josh, 18, works for BrightHouse too for the time being.  Daniel, age 14, is a busy teenager, if he hasn’t changed, he’s up to all sorts of shenanigans keeping Mom and Dad on their toes.  And Lauren, 10, is still sweet, adorable and loveable Lauren.  We miss the Morgans.
